I was truly amazed and excited after viewing this video. This model definitely fits the lifestyle of some students and we are moving towards a technology based education model everyday. I thought how the teachers could have the test scores analyzed at their fingertips was awesome. This allows the teacher to understand what content may need to be addressed again or provide one on one help to that individual student. I have concerns about not spending your high school years around your peers and eating lunch together and attending school functions with your friends. I think their is a piece of the social aspect that definitely would be missing and may affect the student in the long term. I think this similar model would be great if parts of it could be integrated into the traditional school. For example, the way the test are analyzed and electronic would be great. I would suggest to the high school to have student day monthly where all the different grade levels come to school and do team building exercises.
Cassandra,
ReplyDeleteI agree with many of the points you made. It is very important for students to have that social interaction with their classmates. Students need to develop their social and communication skills so they will be prepare for college and the workforce.
Additionally, I like the way the teachers can direct their teaching based on their students' individual performance. This way students will get the assistance they need and develop the confidence they need to be successful.
